Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Produce Subscription?

Our produce subscription is a weekly, bi-weekly, and/or monthly aggregation of local fruits, vegetables and other farm products (milk, eggs, honey, nuts, etc.). A produce subscription allows consumers in Memphis to create a relationship with local farmers and receive a weekly bag of delicious, local produce without the hassle of grocery shopping or the worry of unsafe produce.

What can I expect during the season?

Anywhere from 5 to 10 different fruits and vegetables depending on season, share size and availability. All sustainably grown produce is harvested within 24 – 48 hours of delivery to the Food Access Point. In addition, a number of our farmers’ vegetable crops are heirlooms and cannot be found in grocery stores.

How does the subscription work?

The customer prepays in advance for their subscription with Bring It Food Hub. Participation is on a first-come first-serve basis. This means that the sooner you sign up, the sooner your spot is secured for the growing season. Once your subscription is secured and the growing season begins, we BRING IT delivering your bag of sustainably-homegrown food to a specified Food Access Point for you each week.

Can I specify what produce comes in my share?

In order to make the subscription work, we curate what goes in each bag. We give every subscriber the same variety and amount of food each week (depending on the type of subscription you order). See the Products page for an example image.

Can you tell me what will be in my weekly bag in advance?

Due to the changes in weather and variations across the season we cannot post every crop that will be in your bag each week. However, we can ensure that it will be fresh and delicious. Purchasing a produce subscription is an experience, and Bring It will help you through every step of the way!

I forgot to pick up my bag at the assigned time! What can I do?

Call or email Bring It Food Hub and let us know immediately. If you realized the same day that you were supposed to pick up, your Food Access Point may still have your bag. However, if you realized the next day, chances are the bag is no longer available. We normally Pay it Forward all leftover bags to minimize food waste.

I am going out of town, how can I pause my subscription?

You can either pause it on your Farmigo account, or call us and we can pause it. Any changes have to be done a week prior to the scheduled pick up date! You could also Pay it Forward. Our Pay it Forward program means that the bag is donated to a family in need through one of our community partners.

I didn’t pick up my bag. Can I have a refund?

Memphis Tilth does not offer refunds once the purchase has gone through. If you know ahead of time that you are going to be out of town or will be unable to pick up your bag, we can place the order on hold as long as we receive notice at least a week in advance. In this case, the payment already charged will go to future distribution in this season or up coming season.

We are able to move the pick up date to another day that week if you tell us before your delivery date. If you realize the day of that you are unable to collect your bag, you can opt to participate in our Pay It Forward program. In this program the purchased food is donated to community members in need.

I am unable to participate in the rest of the season’s distribution. What should I do?

We are so sorry to hear that you will no longer be participating in the Bring it Food Hub program! The first thing that you have to do is place your order on a permanent hold. You can do this on Farmigo or call Memphis Tilth at (901) 433-7623 and we can do it for you. Until you place your order on hold, the system will continue to charge you, and we will deliver food to your selected access point.

Please note that if you pick up on Wednesday, you are charged on Thursday for the next delivery. This means that if you want to cancel your order, you must do it on the day of your last delivery. Waiting to do so will have a balance that can either be used as a future final delivery, a balance to purchase Memphis Tilth merchandise, or a donation to the Pay it Forward Program or to Memphis Tilth. Once the payment goes through, we do not offer refunds.
